About us

The Securities Regulation and Corporate Governance Monitor is a web publication of Gibson Dunn's Securities Regulation and Corporate Governance practice group.  This is intended as a forum to share with our clients and friends our current thoughts on developments and trends in securities regulation, corporate governance and executive compensation.  The views expressed here should not be construed as being firm policies or best practices, and a substitute for legal advice that addresses specific facts and circumstances.

Gibson Dunn has over 1,000 lawyers in 17 offices located in major cities throughout the United States, Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to offices in Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York, Washington, D.C., Dallas and Denver, we also have offices in London, Paris, Munich, Brussels, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo.  We are committed to providing the highest quality legal services to our clients in a personal, responsive manner.

We are consistently recognized as having one of the leading securities regulation and corporate governance practices in the nation.  Our securities regulation team was honored to receive the 2011 Chambers USA Award for Excellence. Chambers has also named our group among the leading securities regulation practices in the country for the past several years.  Our corporate governance expertise is also regularly acknowledged by the International Who’s Who of Corporate Governance Lawyers, the Guide to the World’s Leading Corporate Governance Lawyers and Chambers USA.

Our lawyers have extensive SEC and corporate governance experience.  We advise many Fortune 500 and other companies concerning disclosure, accounting and regulatory issues for domestic and foreign regulatory bodies.  We also advise senior management, boards of directors and their audit, compensation, governance and special committees on a wide range of issues relating to board and committee structure and operation, fiduciary duties, and relationships with institutional shareholders.  We also advise non-profit organizations on their governance practices.
